The document stays on the PC
GoDovaro edits the PDF on the Windows computer where the app is installed. The file is not uploaded to godovaro.io to be edited, stored, or read. Markup, signatures, passwords, and page changes stay in that file on that PC.
What activation sends
When a seat is activated, and when the app checks that the seat is still valid, it sends this to godovaro.io:
- The license key.
- A device id. This is a short hash derived from the Windows machine id. The machine id itself is not sent.
- The computer name.
- The Windows user name, as the account name or domain and account name.
- A hash of the Windows user id. The raw security id is not sent.
- The app version.
We store that with the time of the check. It is how a seat stays tied to one PC and one Windows user. If godovaro.io cannot be reached, the app keeps working for 7 days from the last successful check, then it has to connect again.
The portal and card payments
An organization login stores the organization name, the username, and a hash of the password. Staff and the organization can see which seats are issued, whether a key has been used, and the computer name and Windows user on an active seat. Logos uploaded for the app are stored with that organization.
A subscription stores the organization name, the portal username, a hash of the password, the email the keys are sent to, the term you picked, and the Stripe customer and subscription references. A 14-day trial stores the same organization details and the email, and emails a key that stops after 14 days. The card number is entered at Stripe, not on godovaro.io, and we do not store it. We keep the payment reference, the organization, the number of seats, and the amount, so the keys can be issued and a later renewal can be matched.
The contact form
The form sends your name, email, topic, message, and organization if you added one, by email to sander@godovaro.io. It is not written into the license database. We use it to reply. A browser session remembers the form token and how many messages were sent, so the form cannot be fired in a loop.
Cookies
The site sets a session cookie for the portal login and for that contact-form token. There is no advertising cookie and no analytics product on the page.
Asking for a copy or deletion
Email sander@godovaro.io to ask for a copy of an activation record or an organization login, or to ask us to delete it. Deleting an activation removes that PC from the seat. It does not by itself refund the year.
